The Inspire Education and Research Academy is dedicated to enhancing the development of Nepali communities through a comprehensive array of projects. Our initiatives focus on children, youth, and women, recognizing that empowering these groups is crucial for facilitating positive change in Nepal. To reach this goal, we place volunteers in monasteries ,schools, women / child /differently abled /aged care centers, yoga/meditation centers, hospitals and Y's Center.

As a volunteer or intern, you will receive an introduction that includes Nepali lessons, and sightseeing and we take you to your host family and workplace.

How can I apply?

If you are interested in volunteering or intern in Nepal, you may begin by completing our contact form here or email or application form available on our website. Following this, we can engage in a discussion regarding your skills and, together with your length of stay, determine the most appropriate placement for you. It is feasible to participate in multiple placements, such as spending few days/weeks at a aged care center in Kathmandu or Pokhara or Lumbini followed by few days/weeks at a school in a rural region. Our volunteering opportunities are open to individuals of all ages, ranging from high school students to retirees.

Cultural Exchange Program

Cultural Exchange Programs is an International programs fostering cross-cultural understanding. It is the integral part of maintaining a feeling of harmony and brotherhood.Through involvement in these initiatives, individuals can acquire the necessary qualities to integrate into the community of a foreign nation. The primary objective of these initiatives is to understand and promote various cultures and customs.

The volunteers also share their home cultures and traditions with the locals. The duration of these programs ranges from two weeks to a month during which you can enjoy the different exciting festivals taking place. It provide an opportunity to explore the Nepali culture, tradition, lifestyle and local peoples.

To get the actual picture of what people across the world really require there is no other ways then cultural exchange programs. This exchange will make you embark upon a journey of self-discovery. Staying with local host family house, discovering its culture, Nature and history an amazing experience; the program will be the mile stone to help develop village tourism in Nepal.

GATN

As a significant initiative of the YMCA, the Global Alternative Tourism Network (GATN) promotes alternative tourism practices. We have been extending a warm welcome to members of YMCA/Y's Men International, as well as to various organizational members and individuals from across the globe.

Alternative Tourism promotes fair and just forms of travelling activities between members of different communities to achieve mutual understanding, solidarity and equality amongst the participants. It is a form of tourism that has a minimal negative impact on the physical and sociocultural environment in destination areas, and the local community substantially benefits from the tourism programme.

Unlike mass tourism, the main characteristics of the YMCA Alternative Tourism follow the “CHANGE” principles that seek to be Community centred, Holistic in approach, Advocating global citizenship, Nature conserving, Gender and child-sensitive, and Economically viable.
